Karisalai ( eclipta prostrata)

Commonly known as False Daisy, Eclipta prostrata is a resilient member of the sunflower family that thrives as a weed in damp, tropical, and warm temperate regions across the globe. Physically, the plant is identified by its greyish, cylindrical roots and small, distinct flower heads usually about 6–8 mm wide featuring delicate white florets. Its seeds (achenes) are slightly flattened with narrow wings. In traditional medicine, it is recognized for its potent profile, possessing a taste that is notably bitter, sharp, and dry.
